Michael Duncan McDonald went to be with his Savior on November 10th, 2024 leaving behind a legacy of love, faith and devotion. Mike was welcomed with open arms by his parents, Kathleen McDonald-McCullough (Macadoo) and RD McDonald; his brother Pat and sister Kay (Jack); and his grandson Christopher Stacy.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Martha Ann McDonald, his daughter Melinda Stacy (Tom) of Austin; his son Matthew McDonald (Kellie) of Levelland; four grandchildren, Niccole Stacy-Nelson (Ronny) of Austin; Tamara McDonald, Taylor McCulloch (Matt) and Trevor McDonald all of Lubbock; 6 great grandchildren; a sister Judie (Arnold) Williams of Levelland; a sister-in-law Barbara McDonald of Castroville, and his very faithful companion Cowboy.
Mike was a loving husband, father and friend known to most as Daddy Mc or Uncle Mike. Born on July 27th, 1938, in Lubbock, TX he went on to graduate from Monterey High School in 1957. It was in high school where he met the love of his life, Martha Ann. They were two years shy of celebrating 70 years of marriage. They were steadfast partners through every chapter of life. Their devotion to each other was an inspiration to all that knew them.
Mike was the definition of a family man, fiercely loyal and loved Texas Tech. His father, RD, bought the Levelland Compress in 1948. Mike went on to take over as owner and operator followed by his son Matt until they sold to Farmers Coop in 2005. Mike was always the first to lend a helping hand. He graduated with honors for a degree in Agriculture from Texas Tech in 1960 and later in life served as the 41st Chairman of the Red Raider Club. He was a die-hard Red Raider fan until the end.
While we mourn the loss on earth, we rejoice that he is in the arms of our Heavenly Father and has been welcomed by countless family members, friends and dogs.
A visitation will be on Thursday, November 14,2024 from 5-7pm at Krestridge Funeral Home in Levelland. The memorial service will be held at First Methodist Church in Levelland at 1pm on Friday, November 15,2024.
