We say a heartfelt goodbye to Michael McGuire, age 77, a much-loved man who passed away on July 13, 2025. Always welcoming to family, friends, and visitors, his sense of humor drew others in. A navy veteran and long-time machinist with the BN railroad, he valued a job well-done.
A down-to-earth kind of guy, he reached out with a smile through his church's "Transform" program to those down on their luck. His faith became progressively more important to him over the years and he appreciated a clear, brief sermon. He was a skilled latch-hook rug maker, an avid kayaker and a bagpipe player for years, until COPD deprived him of the strength required. He loved sitting down to Marvel action-hero movies and chocolate mini-donuts. He never missed a day of feeding the neighborhood cats (and racoons).
Married to wife Judy for forty years before her untimely death four years ago. Survived by ever-helpful in-laws from his marriage, especially Melissa and Paul, grandchildren and attentive siblings Maureen, Mary, Tim and their spouses.
Many thanks to staff and friends from his church, Highline Christian. Special thanks to his friend Chuck who always looked out for him. And as he would say to wrap up a phone call: "Well, ok then "
