Michael Edward McIntosh passed away peacefully at his home on Monday evening, January 29, 2024 at the age of 60 years. He was born on September 19, 1963 in Saginaw, the son of the late Edward and Bessie (Gordon) McIntosh. Mike spent his life growing up in the Vassar area. He met Pamela Schmitt and after many years of dating they were united in marriage on March 25, 1995. Mike worked for many years at Dykehouse Pickle Co. where he was known as "Mr. Apple" and more recently was employed at ADS in Millington. He was an avid hockey fan, following the Saginaw Spirt and the Detroit Red Wings. Mike enjoyed spending time downtown Vassar watching the bands during the summer concerts, he especially enjoyed the Rock Show. He also enjoyed the drives he and Pam would take to Fish Point, where they enjoyed the calmness of looking out at the lake. Mike especially loved being a Pa-Pa and could not wait see he his two grandkids any chance he could.
Surviving family include his wife, Pam; daughter, Ashley (Ryan) Godard; grandchildren, Alexis and Andrew; sister, Patricia (Steve) Guilfoil; brother, Mark (Mary) McIntosh; mother-in-law, Joyce Hascall; father-in-law, Marvin Schmitt; sisters-in-law, Tammy (Demerus) Gist and Stacy Haymaker as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 5, 2024 at the Penzien-Steele Funeral Home, 149 N. Main St. in Vassar. Private burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Sunday from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. and just before the service on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
