Obituary For Mr. Michael Wayne McKiver, Sr.
Mr. Michael W. McKiver, Sr., 65, of High Point, NC passed away Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at WFBH High Point Medical Center. He was born on May 22, 1959, to the late Lonzell "Zeke" McKiver, Sr., and Nora B. Matthews McKiver. He was preceded in death by one brother, Lonzell "Bobby" McKiver Jr., one sister, Patricia A. Cotton, a nephew, David Robinson Jr., and a great nephew, Colby Bethea.
Michael attended High Point Public Schools and later joined the US Army. He was skilled in home-improvements, especially sheet rock and painting.
He leaves to cherish his memories, his three sons, Michael Bennett, Andre Bennett and Michael W. McKiver all of High Point, NC; two daughters, Iesha Morrison and Nitaya (Tay Tay) Blakeney both of High Point, NC; six sisters, Ada Leggett, Betty (Arthur) Singletary, Mary McManus, Evang. Louise (Pastor Ulysses, Jr.) Welch, Nora "Betsy" Davis, Darlene "Annette" Ratchford all of High Point, NC; six brothers, Samuel (Geraldine) McKiver, James McKiver, Abraham (Evang. Vickie) McKiver, Benjamin (Sally) McKiver, Kelly "Glenn" (Alisa) McKiver, and John Thomas "JT" McKiver; all of High Point, NC; sister-in-law, Carla McKiver of Milwaukee, WI; a special friend, Linda Jones; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends at the chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
Final arrangements are entrusted to Phillips Funeral Service, Inc.
