Michael Patrick McMahon, 61, of Poultney, Vermont, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 11, 1964, to Bill and Betty McMahon, Mike was a lifelong resident of Poultney and a 1983 graduate of Poultney High School.
Over the years, he held many roles in the local communities, working for Vermont Foundations, Poultney Pools, Hadeka Slate, and, most recently, Telescope Casual Furniture, where he became an integral part of the Telescope family as a trusted member of the security and maintenance team for the last 12 years.
Mike will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 33 years, Cynthia (Cindy) McMahon; his daughters, Megan Mullen (Ryan) of Wells, VT, and Alyssa McMahon of Poultney, VT; and his cherished grandson, Karsyn Mullen. He is also survived by his siblings: Debbie Clark (Tom) of Derry, NH; Bonnie Lenihan of Rutland, VT; and Wilbur McMahon (Laura) of Poultney, VT, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Mike was a man who valued hard work, family, and time spent outdoors with his many close friends. He found joy in hunting and fishing, and he loved sharing stories and laughter with those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Calling hours will take place from 5 -7 p.m. Friday, June 6th, at Durfee Funeral Home in Fair Haven, VT. A Celebration of Life will be conducted at the American Legion in Poultney, VT, on Saturday, June 7th, from 1-4 p.m. A private burial at Birdseye Family Cemetery will be held for family and friends at a later date.
