Barbara A DeBonis

POULTNEY- Barbara Ann DeBonis, 85 of Poultney, died on Thursday August 7, 2025, at her residence in South Poultney.

She was born on August 23, 1939, in Poultney the daughter of Theodore and Florence (Pleski) Kantorowski.

Barbara grew up in Poultney, graduating from Poultney High School in 1957, then Green Mountain College in 1959.

She was employed by Proctor Trust, then at Green Mountain College as an Administrative Assistant in the Alumni office until her retirement.

She was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church, Red Hat Society and the Young at Heart Senior Center where she served as its president.

Survivors include 2 sons Steven DeBonis of Westwood, CA and Brian DeBonis of Poultney, a sister Christine Gamble of Poultney, a brother Theodore Kantorowski of Cooperstown, NY, 5 grandchildren, a great grandson, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband William D. DeBonis on September 10, 1997.

A Funeral service will be held 11am Friday August 29, 2025 at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the St. Raphael's Cemetery.

Arrangements are with the Durfee Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Poultney Rescue, P.O. Box 76, Poultney, VT 05764 or Young at Heart Senior Center, 206 Furnace St, Poultney, VT 05764
