Michael Ray Meakin

MEAKIN, MICHAEL RAY, age 54, of Lake Isabella, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at his home.
Private graveside services and burial will be held at Ft. Custer National Cemetery in Battle Creek. In memory of Michael, contributions may be made to Humane Animal Treatment Society, 1105 S. Isabella Rd., Mt. Pleasant, MI 48858, or Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
Michael was born May 29, 1970, in Marlette, Michigan, the son of Wendell and Jacquelynn (Janikowski) Meakin. He was a graduate of Brown City High School with the class of 1988. Michael was a member of the U.S. Army from 1990-1994, serving in Operation Desert Storm. After his time served in the Army, Michael became an ordained minister. He will be remembered by many at Riverside Apartments in Mt. Pleasant for the local services he would hold in the community room as well as his Lake Isabella community. Michael was active in many plays in his years in the U.S. Army. Following his time in the Army, Michael was part of several different theater companies, most recently Mt. Pleasant Broadway Theatre, where he was an actor and director. He was also a talented organ and piano player throughout his high school and military years.
Michael is survived by his sibling Wendy Payne, Lorry Tim Meakin, and Tracie (David) Benzinger, all of Alpena; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
