Michael “Mike” Stephen Medley, age 57, passed unexpectedly at his home in Asheboro and went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, June 24, 2022.
Mike was born on March 25, 1965 to Bobby Lee and Glenda Cheek Medley. He was a 1983 graduate of Asheboro High School where he was elected Class President. Mike greatly enjoyed playing and teaching tennis, golfing, playing the guitar, and going fishing. Mike loved the sport of boxing and received his “Golden Glove” award. Mike was preceded in death by his father Bob Medley, and three brothers Larry, Robbie, and Brian Medley.
He is survived by his 5-year-old son, Grayson Medley; mother, Glenda Medley; sister Sharon “Sherry” Medley, brother Tommy “Tom” Medley (Sarah), brother Ray Medley, sister Gina Medley, and brother Dale Medley (Wendy). Mike is also survived by his loving fiancée Rebecca “Becky” Nelson, his lifelong friend John Massingale, and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11:00 am at Freedom Baptist Church, 2078 N Asheboro School Rd, Asheboro, NC 27203. Burial will follow at Faith Chapel Church Cemetery, 6400 Walter Wright Rd, Pleasant Garden, NC 27313.
