Michael A. Melillo Jr., 96, beloved husband of 68 years to Janet (Zielenski) Melillo, of Wallingford, passed away peacefully on Dec. 27, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. He was born in Wallingford on September 19, 1929 to the late Michael and Elizabeth (DeNigris) Melillo Sr. Michael was a proud US Navy Veteran.
In addition to his loving wife Janet, Michael is survived by his children, Roxanne Sievert (Benjamin Paige), Maureen D'Addio (Mark), Michael Melillo III (Marcia), Jay Melillo (Deborah) and Jon Melillo (Carolyn); his grandchildren, Erika, Michele, David, Tricia, Rebecca, Amanda, Ethan, Evan, Carly, Jon Jr. and Grace; his great-grandchildren, Aiden, Siena, Oliver and Luca; his sister, Marian DeRoy; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John Melillo.
His family will receive relatives and friends in The Wallingford Funeral Home, 809 North Main Street Ext., Fri. Jan. 2nd from 4-6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Sat. Jan. 3rd 10 a.m. directly at Church of the Resurrection. Burial in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, will be held privately.
