Michael J. Mellinger of Waukesha died August 14, 2025 at age 74 at his home. He was born October 25, 1950 the son of Michael John and Evelyn (nee: Hatch) Mellinger in Wauwatosa. He was a 1968 graduate of John Marshall High School in Milwaukee. On July 16, 1977 he married Rhonette (nee: Kennedy) at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Milwaukee. He worked at GE Medical in the anode room as a group leader, manufacturing parts for x-ray machines until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed time he spent volunteering with the Special Olympics, and shooting at the WCTC gun range.
He is survived by his beloved wife Rhonette (nee: Kennedy), his daughter Melissa Mellinger of Waukesha, son Michael Mellinger of Waukesha, grandchildren Katelynn (Jordan) Osborne, and Abigail Mellinger, great grandchildren Colton, and Olivia, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
No formal funeral services will be held.
