Michael T. Miano

Michael Miano, 74, of Demarest, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2026. He was born and raised in Astoria, Queens, New York. Before retiring, Michael worked in maintenance for the New York State Office of General Services. In his free time, he had a deep appreciation for trains, automobiles, and military history-especially World War II. His interest in the era was inspired in part by his late father, Louis Miano, a World War II veteran. Michael also enjoyed sharing that passion with his nephew, taking him to Army and Navy sites and exploring World War II history together.

Cherished partner of Katherine Mehrling for 20 years. Beloved brother of the late Robert Miano and his wife Lynne, Kenneth Miano and his late wife, Anastasia, and Louis Miano and his wife, Susan. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews, especially his nephew, Jonathan, who held a special place in his heart.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus, NJ. Cremation will be private.
