Michael “Mike” L. Conrad, 69, of Oak Harbor, OH, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Fremont Memorial Hospital. He was born May 2, 1956, in Tiffin, OH, to Brooklyn and Janet (Newhouse) Conrad.
Mike graduated from Port Clinton High School in 1974 and went on to study electrical service technology at Terra Community College. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm, stationed in Germany, where he also took the opportunity to travel and see the world.
For over 20 years, Mike worked at the Civilian Marksmanship Program at Camp Perry, where he oversaw club affiliations and the Petrarca Range. He also cared for the firearms used in 21-gun salutes. A skilled marksman himself, Mike enjoyed target shooting and was deeply patriotic, holding a steadfast love for his country.
Outside of work, Mike enjoyed motorcycling and kayaking, but above all, his greatest joy was his family. He was always there when they needed him—dependable, steady, and strong, yet humble and without complaint. His quiet strength and loyalty extended to his co-workers and their families as well, earning him respect and admiration from many.
Mike is survived by his sisters, Diana (Rick Bentley) Stansbery and Suzanne (Greg) Miller; nephews, Kyle Stansbery, Grant (Alissa) Miller, Evan (Arial) Miller, and Jordan Miller; niece, Brooke Stansbery; great-nieces and nephews, Jonah, Fiona, Macie, and Mason; and close friends, Kent Floro and Mary Clayton. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Barb Conrad.
Visitation will be held Monday, September 29, 2025, from 5-7 p.m. at Robinson-Walker Funeral Home at 165 E. Water St., Oak Harbor, OH. Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Camp Perry Clubhouse in Port Clinton, with visitation one hour prior from 10–11 a.m. Burial with military honors will follow at Roose Cemetery, Oak Harbor.
