Michael Glenn Miller

(January 15, 1951 - December 20, 2025)

Michael Glenn "Mike" Miller was born on January 15, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. He passed away peacefully on December 20, 2025, in the comfort of his home, surrounded by family.

Growing up in El Paso, Mike was drawn to the wonders of the natural world and spent much of his time hiking the mountains and camping in the desert. He loved collecting both living and non-living specimens and bringing them home to study. This early curiosity eventually guided him toward a lifelong passion for science.

Mike pursued his education at the University of Houston, where he studied pharmacy. During his 47-year career as a pharmacist, he worked in a variety of settings across Texas and Tennessee. While in pharmacy school, he married the love of his life, Andrea "Andi" Tucker. Together, they raised two devoted daughters.

Throughout his life, Mike enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and passions, including HAM radio, astronomy, and raising alpacas. As a member of the Global Network of Astronomical Sciences, he served as a citizen scientist for NASA, tracking asteroids and analyzing stellar light curves in the discovery of new planets - all from his backyard telescope in Sun City. He was a contributing author on numerous research papers published in The Astronomical Journal.

Mike's laughter was infectious, and he was well known for his quick, dry sense of humor. He lived an introverted life, always striving to live with integrity. He was a deeply empathetic and loyal friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Eugene Miller and Margaret Jane Boyd, and by his sister, Vicki Lynn Miller.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Andi Miller; his sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Tony Pharis; his daughters and sons-in-law, Jennifer and Shannon Starkey, and Julia and Jesse Kevon; four grandchildren, Luke and his wife Bethany (Starkey), and JJ, Charlie, and Trudy (Kevon); two great-grandchildren, Marlow and Parker (Starkey); and three nephews, Sam Ansari, Nathan, and Tyler (Pharis).

Mike's family rejoices that he is now at peace, free from struggle, worshiping before the God he loves. We stand in gratitude for the life he lived, the love he gave, and the legacy he leaves behind.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in memory of Mike.
