Michael Minor Obituary

Visit the Thomas F. Dalton Funeral Homes - Hicksville website to view the full obituary.
Michael Scott Minor was born into eternal life on 9/19/25 at the tender age of 54. Michael is survived by his loving wife Kerry, his adoring children Tristan and Reilly, his mother Carol, his step-father Frank, his brother Jimmy (Tammy), step siblings Damon, Kim (Frank), Nicole (Brent), sister in-law Helen (Mike), brother in-law Dan (Karen), nieces and nephews Michael (Ashley), Matthew (Danielle, James, Connor (Kristie), Maggie (Johnny), McKenna, and Delaney, best friend Terry (Tye) along with a large number of extended family members, friends, and co-workers.

Michael was a life-long Long Islander, born in East Meadow, grew up in Long Beach and Huntington, attended SUNY-Old Westbury college, and after marriage to Kerry, settled in Jericho.

Michael loved to surf, and could be found many early mornings pitting his skills against the waves. He was a voracious reader and a passionate conversationalist on those topics with friends and acquaintances. He was known to friends as Mike-Guyver for his abilities to fix just about anything.

Michael spent most of his career at BNY Mellon in various roles, and was recently promoted to Senior Vice President after receiving the Series 24 (General Securities Principal) designation.

Michael dearly loved America, loved to talk about all things political, and was a staunch proponent of the police and the military.

But most of all, Michael loved his family and did everything for them that he could, every single day. Whether preparing meals, helping with any projects, attending soccer matches, fixing anything one can imagine, hosting family gatherings, etc., Michael did these with great skill. Tristan and Reilly were his absolute pride and joy and he supported them in everything they did and all of their many accomplishments. He loved them so much and will always watch over them from Heaven.

Friends may call at Dalton Funeral Home in Hicksville on Monday, 9/22, 2-4 and 7-9. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, 9/23, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Brookville at 10:15. Interment will follow at Queen of Peace Cemetery on Jericho Tpk in Old Westbury.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that people consider making a donation to Tunnels 2 Towers, Wounded Warriors, or the American Legion.

May Michael Rest in Eternal Peace with our Lord and Savior.
