Michael Stanley Mitchell

Michael Stanley Mitchell of Holiday Island, Arkansas passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023, in Holiday Island at the age of 62.
Michael was born on November 22nd, 1961 in Chattanooga, Tennessee to Thom and Jayanne (Greene) Mitchell. He spent much of his youth riding motorcycles and dirt bikes, playing the drums, and driving his mustang in Plano, Texas where he grew up. He started his degree at Stephen F Austin State University, but eventually received his Bachelors in Information Technologies from the University of North Texas. After graduating, Mike worked first as an psychiatric technician at Charter Hospital of Grapevine where he met Virginia Roberts, whom he married in 1993. He then started a career at Perot Systems until 2001, when he then moved on to other Technical Support companies such as DFW Technology and CTG Health Solutions.
In his free time, Mike dedicated himself to counseling others through addiction, spending much of his time as a sponsor in AA to countless men. He did this all throughout his career living in and around Dallas, Texas. He found great satisfaction in helping people find their centered and best selves, and he did this through all the outlets he could. Mike also enjoyed fishing, billiards, movies and music, his motorcycle, and spending time with his son. Mike moved to Arkansas to be closer to what he loved, the outdoors and great motorcycle rides, after the passing of his mother in Plano, Texas.
He is survived by his son Benjamin Robert Mitchell and his wife Anna Angelica Mitchell of Plano, Texas, father Thom Mitchell of Florida, half brother Thor Mitchell of Oregon, and other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother Jayanne Slaughter (Greene) and brother Kris Mitchell.
Mike requested no formal service be held for his death, and that he be remembered by those who choose to do so in their hearts in their own way, and without sadness.
