Michael L. Murowsky, age 74, passed away at his home in Willoughby on April 16, 2025.
Michael "Mike" Murowsky was born in Cleveland, and lived a life rooted deeply in family. He held dear the memories of his childhood in the St. Casimir Parish neighborhood-growing up surrounded by love with his mom, dad, two sisters, aunts, uncles, and a large circle of cousins.
As a young boy, Mike moved to Euclid and eventually settled into the house on E. 195th Street. That home would become a cornerstone of his life, where he raised his two sons alongside the love of his life, Dianne. They lived right next door to his parents, creating a tight-knit family community that was rare and cherished.
Mike was a proud and dedicated truck driver who spent many days on the road, but no matter the miles he traveled during the week, he always made it home for the weekends-to be with Dianne and his boys. His career with UAW Local 507 spanned many years before his retirement about a decade ago, after which he found peace in the quiet rhythm of a slower life.
Later in life, Mike's world was softened by the arrival of his four granddaughters. Though always a strong, stoic figure-"Poppy Mike," as he was lovingly called-he couldn't help but melt for the girls who adored him just as much as he adored them. He watched with awe as they grew into women, and was overjoyed to meet his first great-granddaughter in 2023-a moment that brought him deep joy and pride.
Mike's heart never fully healed after the passing of his beloved Dianne. He lovingly cared for her until the end, and after her death, he remained devoted-spending many afternoons at the cemetery, listening to Cleveland Indians baseball on the radio by her side. His quiet grief was a testament to the depth of their love.
Mike will be remembered as a man of strength, loyalty, and quiet humor. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him-but we find peace in knowing that his broken heart is now whole again, reunited with Dianne.
Rest easy, Pop.
Loving father of Jeffery Murowsky, and Craig (Meredith) Murowsky; grandfather of Meghan (Vince) Murowsky, Lauren (James) Medlock, Eden Murowsky, and Jillien Murowsky; great grandfather of Sloane Medlock; brother of Debra (Hal) Jones, and Carole (Mark, deceased) Heisler; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Marguerite Murowsky (nee Anderson), and his wife Dianne (nee Ranker).
