Michael J. Murray, a beloved member of the Yonkers community and a longtime employee at 200 E. 57th St, NY, NY, passed away at the Montefiore Medical Center, Moses Campus on June 30, 2023. He was born on July 30, 1946, in Teemore, Co Fermanagh, Ireland to Michael and Mary Murray. Michael was one of seven children.
Michael graduated from Tech School with certifications in Carpentry, highlighting his commitment to learning and honing his skills.
Michael's career was filled with dedication and warmth as he created many lasting friendships during his time at 200 E. 57th St. His memory was renowned among those who knew him - he greeted everyone in the neighborhood while out walking, leaving a lasting impression on all he encountered.
Michael's love for animals was evident throughout his life. Growing up on a dairy farm in Ireland instilled in him a deep affection for animals and nurtured his compassionate nature.
Beyond his professional accomplishments and caring personality, Michael had a wide range of hobbies and interests that enriched his life. Gaelic Football was one of his passions, allowing him during his youth to showcase his athletic abilities while engaging with the sport that held deep cultural significance. Additionally, bagpipes and BBQing brought joy to his leisure time as he delighted in sharing these pursuits with family and friends. The opportunity to travel to Ireland to visit family was another source of immense pleasure for Michael.
