Robert John “Graz” DeGrazio of Pelham, New York, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, February 19 at the age of 65. He was the youngest child of Victoria and Frank DeGrazio. Robert graduated from Pelham Memorial High School and Devry University. He married Cyndi D’Onofrio in 1984, and the couple purchased their first home in Brewster. They eventually moved back to Robert’s hometown of Pelham where they raised their children Vittoria (Tori) and Christopher.
Robert discovered his talent for technical writing and electrical engineering at Flack+Kurtz Consulting Engineers. He joined Robert Derector Telecom in 1995 where he was a member of their leadership team as a Principal. Robert was known in the industry for his expertise in the design and engineering of integrated electronic security solutions throughout the US and overseas. He published numerous articles on security issues in the industry trade press.
Always competitive, he put his heart and soul into his numerous sports and hobbies, including photography, amateur radio, wine making, hunting, fishing, tennis, marathon running, gourmet style cooking, and grilling. His homemade sausage, pulled pork, and ribs were coveted by all who ate them.
Robert will be remembered as a kind hearted, caring, and loving husband, father, and wonderful friend who always gave 100 percent. His sense of humor, ability to offer sound advice, willingness to help and love for his family were astronomical. His greatest joy was entertaining family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Cyndi, his daughter and son-in-law, Vittoria and Brett Ubaldi, and his son, Christopher DeGrazio. He will be missed by his brother Frank and Jeanne (Esposito) DeGrazio, sister MaryAnn DeGrazio, In-laws, Robert and Jessie D’Onofrio, sister-in-law, Toni D’Onofrio, brother-in-law, Vincent D’Onofrio, and his beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
