Michael Robert Jude O'Connor
Born 01.29.35 in New Haven, Michael passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by loved ones.
The scale of those who loved him is immense, because to know him is to have loved him. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Maureen who was his constant companion and love of his life. He also leaves behind his children, Michael, Sean, TJ, Sara, and Alex. He has six grandchildren who he adored and received their adoration in return. He also leaves behind a large extended family, he was a beloved uncle, great-uncle, father in law, and brother in law.
A graduate of Yale and later UCONN law, you would find no greater mind. He loved to read and knew something about everything. He wanted to learn all there was to know and then share it with others. Never play him in Trivial Pursuit.
It's hard to put into words just how good he was. Kindness, humility, and sincerity are only a few of his best traits. He was an incredibly hard worker, and avid supporter of all of his family's endeavors.
He was also unabashedly silly. There was no face he would not make, no sound or voice he would not imitate while reading to his grandkids. He kept us in stitches regularly, enjoying making us laugh.
To honor a man like Michael is to go into the world with a smile on your face and be the good. Cherish your loved ones. The world is better for having had him in it and we, his family are among the luckiest for having him to call ours for so long.
The family asks for privacy at this time of incredible loss.
