Michael J. O'Herin Sr

Michael J. O'Herin, Sr, 72, of Grove, Oklahoma passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 after a battle with cancer and dementia. Born January 26, 1953, in Mankato, Minnesota, he was the youngest son of the late Dan and Carol (Johnson) O'Herin,
He was a graduate of St. Clair High School, St. Clair, MN. He married Peggy Anderson of Eagle Lake, MN in 1973 and they had three children. He was a member of the Church on the Hill in Grove, OK.
Mike loved farming on the family farm in rural St Clair and later the cattle and chicken farms they had after moving to Oklahoma. He was an avid fan of racing and was a great resource for his knowledge of anything mechanical. He could repair most anything on cars, semis, farm equipment or any type of machinery. Mike also worked in the mechanic shop of North Star Concrete in Mankato, and also drove semi for a short time. He and Peggy were currently managing a family lodge on Grand Lake for the Jones family. A loving husband and father and a great friend, Mike will truly be missed.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, brothers Bob and Tom, brothers-in-law Don Zumwalt and Pete Phillips, father and mother-in-law Harvey & Loraine Anderson, nephew Korey Anderson.
In addition to his wife, Peggy, he is survived by their children, Michael (Kristen) O'Herin Jr, Patrick (Gwenevere Zanger) O'Herin,, and Shanie Roberts, all of Grove, OK; six grandchildren, Katilin O'Herin, Nicholas (Kimber) O'Herin, Rusty (Amy Johnson) Roberts, Rowdy (Lydia Killion) Roberts, Aidan O'Herin and Brooklyn Grant; and five great-grandchildren, Kimber North, Pyper Doublehead, Katy Ruth O'Herin, Waylon Roberts, and Emery Killion.. He is also survived by two sisters, Pat Zumwalt and Joann Phillips, sisters in law Dee O'Herin, Linda Morrison, Nancy (Steve) Bestmann, Jan (David) Gartner, four brothers-in-law Alan (Teresa) Anderson, Scott (Denise Boudreau) Anderson, Pat (Linette) Anderson, John Anderson, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 11am Monday, June 9, 2025, at the chapel of Nichols-Stephens Funeral Home in Grove, OK.
