Virginia M. "Ginger" Crowl

Virginia M. Crowl, known affectionately as Ginger, passed away on her 86th birthday, November 17, 2025, surrounded by her family, in Grove, Oklahoma. Born on November 17, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa, Ginger was a spirited and genuine person who cherished her family and embraced life with a sense of adventure.

Ginger's educational journey began in Milbank, South Dakota, and she later earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mankato State University. Her passion for teaching led her to a fulfilling career as a teacher at Leisure Park Elementary School in Broken Arrow, OK, where she shaped young minds until her retirement in 2000.

Beyond her professional life, Ginger was deeply involved in her community and personal interests. She was a long-standing member of the Grove Garden Club and enjoyed playing bridge. Her love for gardening was only matched by her enthusiasm for travel; she and her husband explored the globe extensively and relished road trips across the country. Ginger was also an avid football fan and cherished time spent with her grandchildren, always fostering a warm and inviting atmosphere that reflected her genuine interest in others.

Ginger was a lifelong member of Methodist and Presbyterian churches and later found her church family at Grove's First Baptist Church. Her faith was an integral part of her life, providing her with strength and community ties throughout her years.

Ginger's vivacity, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her legacy of love, education, and community involvement will continue to inspire those she leaves behind.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ellen (Law) Dailey and her husband of 61 years, Lowell Crowl.

Left to cherish Ginger's memory, son, Kent Crowl (MaryAnn) of Houston, TX, daughter Kristin McCorkle (Frank) of Grove, OK, son Kurt Crowl (Michael McIntyre) of Washington, DC; grandchildren: Hadley and Harrison Crowl, Jared, Joel and Jesse McCorkle, great grandchildren; Jackson, James, Kristin, Paxton, Autumn, Jesse and Hudson.

A Celebration of Ginger's life will be at 3pm Friday, November 21, 2025, at Grove's First Baptist Church.
