Michael O’Neil, age 68, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children on Monday, March 18, 2024.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Debra (nee Matas) O’Neil; his children, Jennifer O’Neil, Michael (Beth)O’Neil Jr. and Matthew (Jill) O’Neil; grandchildren, Tyler, Sandra, Madalynn, Ashley, Delanie, Caiden, Liam, Michael III, Caitlin, Aubree, and Matthew Jr.; great-grandchildren, Lily and Brooks; his sister Judy Morgan; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Detmar Corrsen and Jane Corrsen; his daughter Lisa O’Neil; and his siblings, Peggy, Dennis, and Nancy.
Michael was a pipe-fitter by trade. Some of his hobbies included hunting, fishing, and enjoyed the art of glassblowing. Above all else though, he loved his family dearly. He was a loving husband, father, papa, uncle, and brother. He was the kind of person who could make friends anywhere he went and he treated everyone as if they were his family. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Services for Michael will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Kurtz Memorial Chapel, 102 E. Francis Rd in New Lenox with a memorial visitation from 1pm until time of the memorial service at 5:30. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Childrens Hospital in Michaels name would be appreciated.
