Fairport - Kathleen "Kat" (Doran) O'Neil, age 88, passed away peacefully, on September 23, 2025. She is survived by four sons, Tom O'Neil, Jim (Deb) O'Neil, John O'Neil and Dan (Kat) O'Neil; daughter, Molly (Lee) Kaye; six grandchildren, Ty O'Neil, Paige O'Neil, Ellen O'Neil, Sarah O'Neil, Shannon Kaye and Kathryn Kaye; three siblings, Paul (Margie) Doran, Charlie (Anne) Doran and Sheila Berrettone; sisters-in-law, Colleen Fabrizio, Peggy Langford (John Bero), Pat Doran and Anne Doran; brothers-in-law, Howard 'Bud' Ross and Bill (Pat) O'Neil; many nieces and nephews, including Michael Berrettone. She was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Charles P. O'Neil; and 10 siblings, Leo Doran, Thomas Doran, Mary Doran, John Doran, Bonnie Mahoney, Eileen Ross, James Doran, Michael Doran, Jean Coyne and Gerald "Casey" Doran.

Kat was born on October 28, 1936 at home on Grandview Park in Canandaigua to Matthew and Mary (Travers) Doran. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School and Canandaigua Academy, class of 1954. In her youth, Kat was blessed to make lifelong friends nicknamed BROOM: Alta Bolan, Ann Rankin, Pat O'Donnell (Kat or Kathy O'Neil) and Jean Mahoney.

She met her husband Charlie O'Neil at the Farm Restaurant, when he asked her to dance. They were married October 3, 1959 and shared 33 years together until his passing in 1992. Together, they raised five children. Beautiful memories were made making trips to Niagara Falls, the Adirondacks, the New York State Fair and of course the North Country, where Charlie was raised.

Kat was a homemaker until her kids were grown. She then went to work at St. John Fisher College in the Lavery Library. She worked into her early 70s and in retirement, found joy in her children and grandchildren, attending sporting events, dance recitals and graduations.

Kat was a member of St. John of Rochester in Fairport, attending regularly and in later years, watching from her tablet. She found joy in welcoming all her family for holidays. Kat's best dish to pass was her potato salad. She loved watching golf and NFL football and she was a big supporter of the Buffalo Bills.

Her family would like to thank all who lovingly cared for her in the last year, including her aides, Nichole, Beth, Fatima and the staff at the Brightonian Nursing Home.

Her memorial mass will be celebrated Friday, October 17, at 11 am, at St John of Rochester, 8 Wickford Way, Fairport, NY 14450. Interment will be in White Haven Memorial Park, 210 Marsh Road, Pittsford, NY 14534.
