Robert W. Donner

Concord, CA – Robert W. Donner, age 79, passed away on Friday, September 19, 2025, after a long illness. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Chris) Bennett; four grandchildren, Amanda (Eddie) Monge, Phillip Donner, Nicholas Bennett and Abigail Bennett; great-grandson, Oliver Mateo Monge; two brothers, Brian (Carol) Donner and Bradley (Michelle) Donner; several nieces and nephews; longtime companion, Barbara Glass; and devoted caregiver, Belinda Gaines. He was predeceased by his first-born child, Lynn Wells Tiret in 2023, who was formerly known as Robert Wells Donner.

Bob was born in Canandaigua, NY and was the son of Robert H. and Elizabeth "Betty" (Vance) Donner. He grew up in Shortsville, NY and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1964. After high school, Bob worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad in Manchester, NY and in Philadelphia, PA. He then took a job with Canadian National Railway, working in the New York City area. Bob was transferred to Northern California in the 1980's where he worked for the railway company for many years, retiring as Vice President of Sales. Bob was an avid golfer and enjoyed working on cars.

Friends may call Monday, September 29, from 5-7pm, at Johnson-Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Main St., Canandaigua, NY. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 30, at 11am, at Canandaigua Lakeview Cemetery, 4844 Jones Rd., Rushville, NY 14544. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Manchester Model Railroad Association, c/o Mike Buttaccio, 24 North Ave., Manchester, NY 14504.
