Michael David Olinger

Mr. Michael David Olinger, of LaGrange, passed away on May 28, 2024. He was born in Griffin, Georgia on December 4, 1967, to Dorothy Ellen Olinger and the late Roy Lee Olinger.
During high school, Mike loved to wrestle and play football. Even as an adult, he was an avid football fan..GA was his team of choice..UGA, UGA!! Michael worked for the Troup Co. Sheriff's Office as a jailer and then a deputy sheriff. When he left Troup Co., he went to work for the Heard Co. Sheriff's Office starting as a deputy in patrol and then was promoted to an investigator. When he left the Heard Co. Sheriff's Office, he was a Captain and was also supervisor of the patrol division. After many years in law enforcement, he loved working with people and making friends.working for the Coca Cola Co. and most recently, Eastern Industrial. Mike loved his family..his parents, siblings, son, nieces, nephews, cousins.he got so much joy seeing his 2 newest nephews, Reed and Connor, be born and begin to grow up and develop their own little personalities. Mike will always be remembered for his love of music. As a musician, he loved playing the guitar and being part of bands to play cover songs anytime they could. Finally, Mike leaves behind 3 very special friends.Chris Wilson, Bubba Smith and Paul Longshore, who to him, were so close to him that they were considered family to him.
Mr. Olinger is survived by his son, Alex Wade Olinger; his mother, Dorothy Ellen Olinger; his siblings, Regina Moman, Robert Olinger, and Jonathan Olinger (Kristin).
The family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home at Hunter-Allen-Myhand on Saturday, June 1, 2024, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm. A memorial service will begin at the conclusion of the visitation hour on Saturday. Dr. Johnny Ellison will officiate the service.
