Michael Osborn (1992-2024)
Michael Edward Osborn, 32, of Oldham County, Kentucky, passed away on October 13, 2024.
Michael was born in Louisville, Kentucky on September 2nd, 1992 to Colin and Lisa Osborn, both of whom loved Michael dearly. He graduated from Kentucky Country Day before studying at the University of Kentucky. Having inherited the family love for all things construction and heavy machinery – which he demonstrated at a very young age - Michael went on to embrace a career in laying foundations and excavation.
An adorable toddler, Michael had a fascination for determining how things worked. He had an infectious smile that could melt hearts, and he loved making his family laugh. As a child, Michael had a distinct affinity for vacuums and water hoses, and loved to see fast cars do "smoky burnouts." His attraction to machinery and "tinkering" grew as he got older. In adulthood, Michael made a career out of this interest. He worked for Kelsey Construction and was passionate about operating heavy equipment, maneuvering the largest excavators and bulldozers with ease to create new things and help shape the land around him. He excavated well-known construction sites around the region, and dug foundations for many of the buildings and roads we all use on a regular basis.
Michael was an avid outdoorsman and loved being in nature. He appreciated the quietude of his former Shelby County farm life and enjoyed visiting Lake Cumberland with his brother and father. He hunted, gardened, and appreciated the world's natural beauty and the wildlife therein. Michael also enjoyed old films and was an ever-introspective individual. He loved visiting with his mother, for whom he always held a soft spot in his heart. His family and friends will forever remember his passion for big trucks and heavy equipment, and will greatly miss his quirks and clever humor.
Michael was preceded in death by his grandmother, Emma Carolyn Walter; his grandfathers, Kenneth M. Campbell and Charles Osborn Jr.; his uncle, Michael D. Campbell; and his great grandfather, Marion Edward Smith. He is survived by his mother, Lisa Osborn; his father, Colin Osborn; his brother Matthew Osborn; his grandmother, Judy Campbell; and his aunts and uncles, Sean and Beth Rafferty, Charles and Linda Osborn, Caron Osborn, Cynthia and Glenn Matullo; and many cousins.
A visitation and service in celebration of Michael's life will be held at Highlands Funeral Home, 3331 Taylorsville Road, on Saturday, October 19th, from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider donating to the Animal Care Society in Michael's memory.

Trying to pick a favorite Mike memory is too hard cause there are too many. One of my favorite memories is when Mike took me to a job site in Norton Commons to watch the sunset and have some takeout. We just talked and laughed. He (probably regrettably) tried to teach me to operate the excavator, but I filled the bucket too full and we started to tip. He quickly grabbed the controls, laughing hysterically at me. He said I can stick to being the passenger. His humor and ability to always keep me smiling was remarkable. He was caring, he was compassionate, and he was so loving. Mike always shared his love for things in this world with me and big yellow machinery will always be so special to me now, too. I will never forget the firsts or the lasts or anything in between. I love you forever and you´re forever in my heart Mike. Love, Lind´s Bug.

Mike was my best buddy, here is a picture of him getting his first deer. And another photo of him saving a hawk.he loved nature and his farm. We was hunting buddys, best friends, and ill never forget how great he was. Mike had a soul pure as gold. Mike was always there for me, he would help me with anything and never said no to a helping hand. Mike will forever live on in our hearts and memories! I love you Mike, look over us all as you always did!

I´m truly torn to pieces with this one. I have so many words, so many stories. Mike I truly cannot fathom a world without you in it. I know my Finley boy was waiting for you. The most amazing man I´ve ever met, inside and out. I love you so so much man. I will forever cherish all of the good times with you, the love you always showed me, even though it didn´t end up with us together, you never loved me any different. What a phenomenal human being. Forever and a day, my dude. Soul ties for life. (Don´t worry, when we meet again I´ll make sure to have my white chili, just the way you like!)
