Michael D. "Mike" Ost

Michael D. "Mike" Ost, 47, of Kiski Township, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born March 25, 1977 in Buffalo, NY, he was a son of Darrell & Donna (Morrison) Ost of Apollo, PA.
Mike attended Attica High School in Attica, NY before moving to Apollo and graduated from Kiski Area High School in 1995. He then attended Vale Technical Institute.
Mike worked as a laborer for Cadamore Construction for 15 years, and then drove truck for ECM and West Penn Diesel. He then started his own company, M.Ost Construction and Remodeling. Mike later worked in the maintenance department for the Apollo-Ridge School District, and was last employed as the maintenance director at Family House in Pittsburgh.
Mike enjoyed hunting, camping, and riding his Harley Ultra Glide. Above all else, he most loved spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Mike is survived by his wife of 29 years, Julie A. (Long) Ost; daughters, Allison Ost of Fairfield, PA, Megan (Matthew) Dziadyk of Steubenville, OH, Abigail Ost of Kiski Township; grandchild, Maddy (and one on the way!); brother, Darwin (Mary) Ost of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Julie (Jake) Reinhardt of Buffalo, NY, Cher (Michael) Adams of Jupiter, FL, Loretta (Mark) Stewart of Trafford; nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Jane (Bill) Shord of Orrtanna, PA; and his father in-law, Michael (Becky) Long of Allegheny Township.
Friends will be received in the Curran-Shaffer Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 100 Owens View Ave., Apollo, on Saturday, May 11, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration Of Life Tribute Service at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mike's memory to Family House, 5308 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15224.
