WORTHINGTON, IOWA
Michael “Mickey” J. Ostwinkle, 75, of Worthington, Iowa passed away Peacefully on July 11, 2025.
Visitation will be held from 2:30 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Visitation will continue Friday morning from 8:15 – 9:15 a.m. at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home prior to funeral services.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 18, 2025, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Worthington, Iowa, with burial following in the church cemetery. Rev. Mark Osterhaus will officiate.
Michael was born on March 4, 1950, to Ernest and Del Rose (Tobin) Ostwinkle; Mickey lived a full and generous life devoted to family, friendship, and helping others. Mickey married Jayne Meis on October 11, 1969, and together they built a beautiful family.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Jayne; two sons: Troy (Brandy) Ostwinkle of Hiawatha and Todd Ostwinkle of Cedar Rapids; He was a proud grandfather to Cody (Alex) Whitham, Hayden (Grace) Ostwinkle, Camber Ostwinkle, Hunter Ostwinkle, Connor Ostwinkle and a proud great-grandfather to Scarlett Whitham; siblings: Dennis Ostwinkle, Dean Ostwinkle and Daryl (Darla) Ostwinkle; in-laws: Donnie (Andrea) Meis, Jerry (Pat) Meis and Julie Ostwinkle.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Nita Ostwinkle and brother, Ron Ostwinkle; in-laws: Sandy Ostwinkle, Audrey (Lenny) Wichman and Deb Ostwinkle.
Mickey was known for his quick wit, humor, and unmatched generosity. He never passed up a good bargain, and was a master at buying, selling, and tinkering with tools and household items—many of which could be found neatly stored (or not so neatly) in his garage. If you needed something, Mickey probably had ten.
A lifelong Iowa Hawkeyes fan, Mickey loved riding his motorcycle, traveling all over, sharing stories with anyone who would listen and also playing euchre and solo with family and friends. With a mind like an encyclopedia, he always had a fact to share or a joke to tell. He served his community by working for Dubuque County for 43 years, served on the Worthington council and was a member of the JCs as well as a volunteer firefighter for Worthington. His true joy came from helping neighbors, fixing anything that needed fixing, and being the kind of friend everyone wishes they had.
Mickey leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
