Michael James Paige

Michael James Paige, 72 of Elk City, Oklahoma was born on October 3, 1953, in Bakersfield, California to James Carlton and Dorothy Lea (Dempsey) Paige. Michael looked upon the face of his Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Elk City Nursing Home, Elk City, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family.

Michael married the love of his life, Janet Marie Gillaspy on June 21, 1974, Wheeler, Texas. Together they spent many wonderful years of marriage together and raised four children, Michael, Misty, Mandy, and Mariann.

Michael was the proud owner and operator of Mike's Inspection Service for over fifteen years. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, defending his country, alongside his best friend, Cadillac.

Michael was a fabulous chef and loved barbecuing, cooking and eating delicious meals he'd prepare for his loved ones. Michael found great joy in watching the OU Sooners, fishing, and playing softball. He treasured spending time with his family and friends, watching his grandchildren and being involved in their lives.

Michael had a deep personal relationship with God and was a member of the Grandview Church, Elk City, Oklahoma, where he loved his church family and serving in the kid's ministry.

His love for life and the people in it will be deeply missed, but the memories he created will continue to provide comfort and joy to those he leaves behind. Michael's legacy is one of love and friendship, and he will live on in the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 13, 2026 at Grandview Church, Elk City, Oklahoma. Pastor Bryan Herrick will officiate. Interment will be at Fairlawn Cemetery, Elk City, Oklahoma. Services have been entrusted to the care of Richard and Tammy Dugger and the staff of Martin-Dugger Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Elk City, Oklahoma.

Cherishing his memory is three daughters, Misty Musick and her husband, Wendell of Elk City, Oklahoma, Mandy Mason of Elk City, Oklahoma, Mariann Paige and her husband, Joey Word of Elk City, Oklahoma; one son, Michael Paige of Elk City, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren, Madison, Montana, Jamie, Merrick, Major, Emma, Xander, Maylee, Lillian, and David; one brother, Brian Jenkins of California; one sister, Cindy Morris of Florida; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Michael is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Marie Paige; his parents; one son, Matthew Paige; and one sister, Mariann Johns.
