Michael (Mike) David Paquette of Auburn, Maine passed away suddenly at Central Maine Medical Center on October 28th, 2022, after a brief illness. He passed quietly in his sleep surrounded by his loving wife and siblings. He was 64 years old. Mike was born on October 31, 1957 in Waterville, Maine, the third of six children of his deceased parents, Hilaire and Claudette Paquette. Mike was known and loved for his large, generous heart, his infectious sense of humor, and his selflessness. When he was 18, he donated one of his kidneys without hesitation, giving the gift of life to his beloved sister Angie. She carries the special reminder of him with her to this day, a living testament to the loving soul that was our brother Mike. Mike graduated from Winslow High School in 1976. Before he graduated, he started on his path as a professional musician as a lead singer with small local bands in the area. Mike married the love of his life, Susan C. Roy, on February 12, 1983. Mike would go on to perform with various bands throughout his life in many venues throughout Maine and into New England, as well as performing for family weddings and functions. His performances were both joyous occasions and an inspiration; he would continue to entertain friends, family and strangers alike until his retirement in 2021. When not on stage, Mike enjoyed being out in his kayak, or fishing with his dearest friends. He also loved carving beautiful works of art out of wood, mostly reflecting the animals he loved to see in nature. Mike is survived by his wife Susan (Roy) Paquette of Auburn, Maine; his son Nicholas Paquette of Auburn, Maine; and his granddaughter Lily Paquette. He is also survived by his five siblings; Angie (Paquette) Cairnie of Winslow, Maine; Paul Paquette of Winter Springs, Florida; Cindy Paquette of Clinton, Maine; Jeffrey Paquette of Durham, New Hampshire; and David Paquette of Benton, Maine. He is survived by nine nieces and five nephews whom he cherished. He was also adored by his beloved cousins of whom there are far too many to mention, both those living and those who predeceased him. Per Mike's wishes, there will be no public service. The immediate family will gather in his memory. In lieu of flowers or cards, donations can be made in Mike's name to the National Kidney Foundation.
