GOUVERNEUR – Ronald Paquette, age 85, of Gouverneur, passed away on July 12, 2025 at Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown.
Ronald was born on December 20, 1939 in Watertown to the late James Albert and Doris Ruth (Mullen) Paquette. He attended the Watertown High School and served in the United States Navy.
Ronald married Barbara L. Merritt on May 14, 1960 at the Gouverneur United Methodist Church with the Rev. Stanley Brown officiating. Barbara passed away on November 12, 2012.
Mr. Paquette worked as a millwright and carpenter for the former Local 278 Carpenters' Union. He worked all over the north country for 30 years. He and his wife were avid rock collectors and in his free time, Ronald enjoyed making lawn furniture and hunting.
Survivors include four sons, Jeffrey, Steven, Darren, and Christopher and his daughter, Sherri Marshall. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his wife, Barbara, a son, Kevin, and a brother, James.
Keeping with Ronald's wishes, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. Arrangements are with French Funeral Home, Gouverneur. Condolences may be shared online at www.frenchfuneralhomes.com.

Ronnie was such a great guy I've known him since I was a little girl my grandparents live next door to them is growing up. He was always so fun to be around and joking with everyone. He will be truly missed. May you rest in peace! My condolences to the family.
