Michael Thomas Pearson

Michael Thomas Pearson, 72, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on New Year's Day surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wake County to the late Jesse Vernon Pearson & Mary Frances Franklin Pearson. Michael was a truly loved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and great-uncle. He had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone with a need. He loved being a professional truck driver, and he took his responsibilities for safety on the road very seriously. For most of his years as a truck driver, he was local only, delivering building supplies to construction sites within the state of NC. After 2008, he became an over-the-road trucker, traveling up and down the east coast. He did not love being away from his family all week and only home on weekends. As an avid NASCAR fan, Michael was all smiles when he got to take a lap around the track at Daytona Speedway.

Michael is survived by his mother, Mary Frances Franklin Pearson; his wife of 49 years, Nancy Jean Hayes Pearson; his sons, Brandon Michael Pearson, William Heath Colvin and his siblings, Wayne Pearson (Gladys) and Judy Moody (Benny).

Funeral service will be at 3:00pm on Thursday, January 8, 2026 in the Strickland Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel, with visitation from 2:00pm to 3:00pm prior to the service.
