Ronald Benjamin Carter, Sr.
July 10, 1948 – January 1, 2026

Ronald Benjamin Carter, Sr., 77, of Zebulon, passed away January 1, 2026. He was born July 10, 1948, in Meriwether, Georgia, to the late Charles Benjamin Carter, Jr. and Mildred Anderson Carter.

Ronald was a man of many interests. He loved spending time fishing, watching a good Western movie, and cheering on the Tar Heels. He enjoyed watching wrestling with his sons and could often be found immersed in a Louis L'Amour novel. Music was another passion-he loved to sing and continued doing so even when keeping a tune became a challenge later in life. A history enthusiast, Ronald enjoyed reading about military operations.

Growing up in a logging family, Ronald carried pride in his roots and frequently shared stories from his childhood. Family meant everything to him, and he held a special bond with his brothers, cherishing the time and memories they shared together.

Above all else, Ronald loved God with all his heart. His faith was central to his life, and at one time he studied to become a pastor.

Ronald is survived by his sons, Christopher "Dale" Carter (Andrea) and Ronald Benjamin Carter, Jr.; daughters, Regina Pridgen (Frank) and Brandy Carter Ide (Guy); and brother, Jimmy. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. Ronald is preceded in death by his wife, Marcelene Carter, his sister, Betty, and his brother, Jerry.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Union Hope Baptist Church, 12712 NC-97, Zebulon, NC 27597.
