Michael Allen Perkins, 72, of
Lisbon, Maine, was born on July 9, 1953, in
Lewiston, Maine, and passed away unexpectedly due to a medical event on January 19, 2026.
Michael was the third of four children born to his parents, John W. Perkins and Wilma E. McDonald Perkins, and was raised in
Lisbon, Maine. He attended Lisbon High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1971. After graduation Michael attended SMVTI obtaining an Associate Degree in Law Enforcement Technology. Later in life, Michael continued his education and earned an Associate Degree in Business from Central Maine Community College in 2011, a testament to his dedication to lifelong learning.
Michael spent much of his working life in the textile industry. He began his career at Camden Yarns in Lisbon and later joined Formed Fiber Technologies, where he worked for 24 years. Starting as a machine operator, Michael's strong work ethic and attention to detail led him to retire as a Quality Control Liaison. Even in retirement, Michael could not remain idle and found enjoyment in working in pest control with Bug Beaters and Ants Plus.
Michael's faith in the Lord was a cornerstone of his life and led him to become a devoted member of Lisbon Falls Baptist Church. In addition to his involvement in men's group worship, Michael organized and attended many men's retreats. He was also known for hosting movie nights at church. Michael served the church faithfully as a custodian until his passing.
On June 30, 1984, Michael married the love of his life, Joanne Despres Perkins. Together, they blended their families, bringing together two sons each from previous relationships. What was at times a chaotic masterpiece became a loving family, as Michael raised and supported all four boys as his own.
Michael was an avid reader and enjoyed quiet moments with a good book. When not reading he enjoyed classic Sci-fi and slapstick comedy movies. Michael will be remembered for his steady presence, strong faith, and unwavering devotion to his family and community.
