Michael Piazza, 77, of Doylestown went home to his Lord and Savior on Monday, April 12, 2025, with his family by his side. Born in Akron, Ohio on September 7, 1947, Michael devoted his life to his Catholic faith and a love for his family. Michael grew up in North Royalton, moved to Lodi in the mid 1980's, and finally moving to Doylestown in 2020 to be closer to family. He attended Cleveland State University receiving a marketing degree and spent most of his career working at Invacare in Elyria.
Michael was especially proud of being a Eucharistic minister, attending many men's catholic retreats and singing in multiple choirs including his church, (St. Stephens), The FEST in Cleveland as well as several recreational adult choirs. He loved football and baseball, especially the Browns and Guardians. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, taekwondo and reading. Michael held a very special place in his heart for his family and his three previous pet collies. He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Joan Piazza of North Royalton, sister Teri Russo of Doylestown and brother-in-law Larry Babb of LaGrange. He is survived by daughter Dawn (Mark) Bailey, son Brian (Julie) Piazza, five grandchildren Hannah, Drayton, Brycen, Gabby and Aly, all of Wadsworth as well as sisters Sandy Babb of LaGrange and Debi (Jim) Schultz of Berea.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Michael's name can be made to St. Stephens Catholic Church in West Salem.
Special thank you to the wonderful care he received by The Inn at Coalridge, Cleveland Clinic Hospice and Harmony Hospice.
A private graveside service to take place on Good Friday at Holy Cross Cemetery.
