Michael Picarelli Obituary
at age 93 on November 28th, 2018 in Brooklyn, New York. Prior to emigrating to America, he worked for the
U.S. Army as a translator and logistics assistant. After moving to America, he was an Office Manager at Prince Macaroni Company.
Michael was the loving husband of the late Raffaela Picarelli. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Corrado and Anthony; sister, Maria and his daughter-in-law Maria del Refugio Picarelli. Michael is survived by his sons, Henry and Michael Vincent Picarelli; daughter, Marie Popp and her husband George Popp; brother, Vincenzo; sisters, Elvira and Carmela; and grandchildren, Michael Rafael Picarelli, Olivia Picarelli, Ashley Popp, and
Briana Popp.
Michael loved drawing, painting, cooking, and baking. He was an avid photographer, who made sure he always had a camera in hand to document family events. He was a member of the Sons of Italy and the Independent Order of Foresters. He was also an usher at St. Patrick's Church in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn.
Friends and family members may attend the wake on Friday, November 2 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McLaughlin & Sons Funeral Home, 9620 Third Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11209. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Roman Catholic Church of St. Patrick, 9511 4th Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, 11209. The burial will take place after the funeral service at Pinelawn Memorial Park and Arboretum, 2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
Those who wish may donate in Michael's name to Meals on Wheels and Caring Kind.
