"Loving father, brother & uncle "
James J. Picarelli, 76, of Cheshire, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2022 at the Cheshire Regional Rehabilitation Center with his family by his side. He was the beloved husband of the late Angela (Perrone) Picarelli.
James was born in Waterbury, CT on August 29, 1946, a son of the late Thomas and Mary (Lucian) Picarelli. He served his country honorably in the United States Army National Guard during the Vietnam War era. He worked as a mechanic with his family's business, Picarelli Brothers for several years and before his retirement, worked as a bus driver for DATTCO Bus Company. He enjoyed classic cars and classic Rock & Roll.
James leaves his children, Thomas Picarelli and his wife, Emma of Plantsville, Rosemary Picarelli and her fiancé, Chris Rich of Waterbury, brother, Robert Picarelli of Waterbury, sister-in-law, Doreen Ruey and her husband, Richard of Plantsville, brother-in-law, Michael Perrone and his wife, Rosemary of Wolcott and nephew, Kevin Ruey and his wife Rachael of Severance, CO. He was predeceased by his brothers, Paul and Thomas Picarelli.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury, CT. Burial of his cremains will follow in New Pine Grove Cemetery, Waterbury. There are no calling hours. Chase Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home, 430 Chase Parkway, Waterbury, CT has been entrusted with his arrangements.
Memorial donations can be made in James' name to: St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
