Michael Dempsey Poff, who was born on October 18, 1955, in Memphis, TN, passed away on January 16, 2026, in Brandon, MS. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career, retiring from Walmart several years ago, where he served on the management team.

Michael was a man of many passions and a kind heart. He loved playing his guitar and was always eager to help anyone in need, genuinely embodying the spirit of generosity. Though he could be stubborn at times, those who knew him understood that he had the heart of a teddy bear. Michael was a true man of God, faithfully watching his favorite ministries, including Billy Graham.

One of his fondest joys was bringing home stray pets, showering them with love and care. He had a special fondness for cats and was known for coming up with the most unusual names for them. Above all, Michael cherished his family, especially his two granddaughters, Alaina Louise Macoy and Marleigh Mae Macoy.

He leaves behind his daughters, Allison Louise Poff and fiancé JR Macoy, and Heather Nicole Rogers and husband Darryl. His siblings include sister Cynthia Hunt and brothers Stanley Poff and wife Penny, and Jeffery Hardy Poff. Michael is also survived by his nieces, Hannah Wilson and husband Wesley, Ella Wilson, Rachel Ann Williams and husband Nicholas; nephew Brayden Wilson; and great nephews, Joseph Hunt and Evan Williams.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents, Dewey Stanley Poff and Ruthie Louise Palmer Poff.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Service starting at 4:00 PM, both at Ott & Lee Funeral Homes in Brandon, MS.
