Michael "Mike" Pond, 70, of Cleveland, TN passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1st, 2026, in his daughter's home surrounded by loving family after fighting a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Born on October 31st, 1955, in Rockford, IL to Geraldine and Marion Pond. He worked as a foreman for Stenstrom Construction for many years, as well as maintenance for Walter Lawson's Children's Home in Loves Park, IL before retiring. After retirement, he relocated to Waynesboro, TN where he enjoyed fixing up his home on 13 acres before relocating to Cleveland, TN to be close to his children and grandchildren.
Michael enjoyed watching Nascar, fishing and tinkering with his guns.
He is survived by siblings Robert (Robin) and Kathy Pond; children Tina (Ryan) Thomas and Steven Pond; former wife and mother of his children, Marion Erdmier; grandchildren Mikayla and Wyatt Thomas; nephews Kyle (Ashley) Pond, David Pond, Christopher Pond.
In accordance with Michael's wishes, he will be cremated. A private and intimate ash spreading will take place with close loved ones. No public services are planned at this time.
