Dr. Michael Pordy

Dr. Michael G. Pordy, age 74, of Glen Cove, NY (previously of Cincinnati, Ohio), died Sunday,
April 28, 2024 after a brief illness.
Dr. Pordy was born in St. Louis, MO on July 25, 1949 to the late Delores and Howard Pordy.
He graduated from the University of Illinois with a BS in chemistry and then attended medical
school at St. Louis University.
Dr. Pordy was board certified in internal medicine and rheumatology. He was affiliated with
Mercy Jewish Hospital and worked for 40 years as a sole practitioner in Cincinnati, Ohio. He
also spent part of his career working at the VA. He was an outstanding diagnostician and was
revered by his patients.
After retirement from his practice, he performed research for the Covid-19 vaccine.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Barbara Shapero Pordy and his son David Pordy.
He is survived by his daughter Karen (Peter) Levine, his grandchildren Tyler and Lexi Levine,
his brother Steven (Maggie) Pordy and niece Jill, and his sister in law Julie (Craig) Margolis and
niece Jennifer.
A private graveside service was held on May 1, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
