Michael Joseph Poro

Michael Joseph Poro Passed on August 21, 2025, with family by his side. Mike was born on August 29, 1958, in Proctor VT to Richard and Barbara Poro. He was one of seven Children. Mike grew up on Plains Road in Pittsford, VT which to this day he still resided on Plains Road. Mike attended Lothrop Elementary School and was a graduate of Otter Valley Union High school. He chose to go into the workforce right after high school. He married the love of his life, Nancy Greeno, on August 2, 1980, in Pittsford VT. They were married for 45 wonderful years. Mike worked at GHR salvage yard formally known as Browns salvage yard, also formally known as Keith's salvage yard for over 45 years. He loved his job and was a very dedicated and extremely hard worker. Mike and Nancy had one son, Thomas Michael Poro. Mike was a loving, caring father. He coached and attended all of Tom's sports events as he grew up. Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, he and Tom spent many hours together in the woods hunting or on a lake fishing. He was part owner of a hunting camp on Wildcat Road in Chittenden where he loved to spend time with his family. In his later years Mike became a regular at the hockey rink attending all of his grandson's hockey games, tournaments and sometimes practice. Known to all at the rink as PA. Mike loved to spend time with his grandson, playing ball, riding the buggy, or hanging out by the fire. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Anyone who knew him loved him.

He is survived by his wife Nancy, his son Tom (Melissa), Grandson and light of his life Thomas Franklin Poro. He is also survived by sisters Patty Martin, Mary (Fred) Greeno, Jeannie (Dave) Foley, his brother and best friend Edward Poro. He is also survived by 4 Loving Sister in Laws. He is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews.

Mike was predeceased by both his parents, his brother William Poro and brother Richard Poro.

Calling hours will be at Barnard Funeral Home on Sept 5, 2025, from 4 to 6.

Private Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Pittsford on Sept 6, 2025, at 11 with a celebration of life to follow at 1 at Black Diamond Builders 1691 Grove St, Brandon VT.
