Michael Eugene Propp

Michael Eugene Propp, 64, of Marshalltown, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at his home.
A public visitation for Michael will be held on Monday, September 11, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home in Marshalltown. Memorials may be directed to the family. Michael Propp was born on December 15, 1958 in Entiat, Washington to Elmer Carl and Gladys V. (Shay) Naylor. After high school, Michael enlisted and served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps from 1977 until 1979. Being able to serve was something that was very important to Michael. Later in life, and after his discharge, Michael took some college courses.
Michael enjoyed playing bingo, exercising, swimming, writing and spending time with his mom, especially cooking together. He also enjoyed writing, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, studied the Bible, collected records, spending time with family and friends on Thanksgiving, and was known to talk your ear off from time to time.
Michael is survived by his siblings: Sheryl (Lowell) Moyer of Beaman and David Propp of Marshalltown; niece: Dawn Carlson of Conrad; great niece and nephew: Noah and Maddie Carlson; and his three children: Rachel, Joshua, Rebecca, and Joseph.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents: Elmer and Gladys.
