Michael Rutledge Creasey, aged 82, of Smithville, TX, passed away on December 25, 2025.

Born in Waco, he was the son of the late Orville Creasey and Minnie Lee Rutledge Creasey. Michael graduated from William B. Travis High School in Austin in 1962. He spent his childhood in Waco and Austin, eventually settling permanently in Austin prior to his high school years. In 2004, Michael and his wife Carol relocated to Smithville.

Though both attended Travis High School, Michael met his future wife at a movie theater in South Austin, where he worked as an usher and she was employed at the candy counter. They married in 1965 and shared 56 wonderful years together.

Michael is survived by his daughters, Michelle James and her husband Brad of Austin, TX, and Kelley Dworaczyk and her husband Mike of Smithville, TX. He also leaves behind three cherished grandchildren: Nick James (Claire) of Anchorage, AK; Spencer James (Jayd) of Round Rock, TX; and Samatha Dworaczyk (Keagan) of Smithville, TX. Additionally, Michael is survived by his niece, Cary Creasey Johnson of Weatherford, TX, and his two beloved dogs, Nick and Nora.

A Celebration of Life will be held in honor of Michael. Details will be provided once arrangements are finalized.
