Michael Neal Rabon
06/26/1967 - 09/05/2025
In the gentle embrace of twilight, as stars alight the firmament to herald the end of day, so
did Michael Neal Rabon, a soul of boundless creativity and spirit, depart from this earthly
stage. Born under the summer sun of Santa Barbara, California, on the twenty-sixth of June
in the year 1967, Michael, known to all by his given name, embarked upon life's grand
adventure with the vigor of a tempest and the curiosity of a scholar.
His journey led him to the hallowed halls of Fresno State, where he delved into the annals
of history, a subject that would forever capture his imagination and influence the many
roads he would travel. As a truck driver, he traversed the vast landscapes of our nation, a
modern-day Argonaut in pursuit of life's Golden Fleece, his heart beating in tandem with
the rhythm of the open road.
Michael's soul was a canvas upon which the vibrant colors of art and music painted the tale
of his existence. His life was a symphony, each movement a testament to his passion for the
finer things that stir the human spirit. In the quiet moments, one could find him lost in
thought, his mind exploring the boundless realms of creativity that lay within.
He was, to those who had the privilege of his acquaintance, a man of interesting
countenance, whose spirited laughter and creative spark illuminated the lives of all around
him. As Shakespeare once penned, "All the world's a stage, and all the men and women
merely players." Michael played his part with a fervor that would have pleased the Bard
himself, leaving a legacy etched in the memories of those who loved him dearly.
His life's tapestry is woven with the love of his family, his youngest daughter Alexis Rabon,
etching her father's teachings into her heart, and his eldest daughter Elizabeth Freitas,
upholding her father's legacy of passion and curiosity. They, the bearers of his flame, shall
carry forth his spirit into the morrow.
As the poet John Donne once wrote, "No man is an island, entire of itself; every man is a
piece of the continent." So it was with Michael, whose spirit was not confined to the
singular, but spread out into the world, touching lives and shaping moments with the
indelible mark of his presence.
On a day in Fresno, California, Michael's journey reached its earthly conclusion, a life lived
with the freedom and authenticity that many aspire to but few achieve. His passage from
this mortal coil, though marked by the tribulations of a lifestyle fully embraced, is not an
end but a transformation into the eternal spiritual essence that he so fervently believed in.
Let us not mourn the setting sun, for it promises the glory of another dawn. Michael Neal
Rabon, a man of history, art, and music, has found his rest, leaving behind the echoes of a
life richly lived and a world more interesting for his having been in it. May his story be told
in the annals of time, and may his spirit soar on the wings of eternity.
