Michael Santos Reis, 64, of Staten Island, passed away unexpectedly on December 6, 2025. Born on November 1, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, he had lived in Staten Island for nearly 40 years.

Michael spent many years working as a longshoreman and in the auto industry. For the last 15 years, he worked in facilities for Time Warner/Spectrum.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. He was survived by his wife, Maria Nunez-Reis; his 4 sons: Anthony, Michael (married to Jaclyn), Christopher, and Nicholas; his granddaughter, Elle; and his bonus children Christopher, Matthew, and Victoria; his bonus grandchildren, Xavier and Zoey (his Little Tornado); his mother, Margie; his brother, Anthony (married to Amy); his niece, Madison, and his nephews, Connor and Ryan, as well as many cousins and his aunt and uncle. He was predeceased by his father, Antonio.

Michael enjoyed watching the Yankees, old Westerns, and documentaries. He was an avid fan of the Portuguese national soccer team, especially Cristiano Ronaldo. He was very proud of his Portuguese heritage.He loved visiting Portugal; he would go every summer as a kid and as often as he could as an adult He enjoyed watching NASCAR on TV and attending races in person when he could. He loved taking day trips to peaceful locations, like Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and the Poconos.. He loved his dogs, Bella, Monsta, and Rosita. He also loved to tell old stories, reminisce about his youth, and discuss memories of beloved family members who predeceased him. He was remembered for his strong work-ethic, dry humor, quick wit, and his love for his family.

A Funeral service will be offered at 7:00 PM on Friday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Private Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York.
