Michael Scott Ridkes, age 39, of Wyckoff unexpectedly passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023. Born in Ridgewood and raised in Allendale, Mike lived in Hoboken before moving to Wyckoff in 2014 to start a family. After graduating college, Mike worked in sales and marketing for a hedge fund and built an illustrious career in finance. He was an intense sports fan, rooting for the LSU Tigers, the New York Giants, the New York Mets and the New York Knicks with vigor.
Mike met his beloved wife Diane (nee: Giannone) in New York City in 2008. They went on to have two children, Micaela (7) and Joseph (3) whom Mike adored. He was a devoted and fiercely loyal husband and father, and his family will forever cherish the lifetime of memories they built together.
He was the dearest son of Kathleen (nee: Conner) Ridkes and Howard Ridkes and dear grandson of Lindsay Conner. Mike is survived by his loving Uncle Lindsay Conner, Aunt Barbara, and cousin Lindsay Conner. He is also survived by his in-laws, Tony and Denise Giannone, sister-in-law Kristen Hindley and her husband Michael, brother-in-law Anthony Giannone and his wife Ariane, niece Julianna Hindley, and nephew Dylan Hindley. Mike considered his friends to be his extended family. He leaves behind countless friends who will miss him dearly.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 8, 2023 from 12-2 pm and 4-7 pm at the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Ave., Hawthorne. A funeral service will be held at 7:00pm at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a fund for Micaela and Joseph
