Dennis Edward Lawson

Lawson, Dennis Edward, age 83, of Fair Lawn, on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Born in Deschler, NE, Dennis grew up in a military family and had lived in North Carolina, Florida and California before settling in Glen Rock in 1960 moving to Paterson in 1970 and then Fair Lawn in 2023. He worked as an electrical engineer at Western Union for 20 years and then at the Internal Revenue Service for six years. He finished his career as a contractor for the City of New York Department of Information Technology & Communications. Dennis was a faithful parishioner of St. Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock.
Dennis was the beloved son of the late George Edward Lawson and the late Vera Elizabeth Lawson (nee: Neff). Loving brother of Michael Lawson and his wife Carolyn of McHenry, IL, Murray Lawson and his wife Gina of Sitka, AK, and Anne Schaper and her husband William of Midland Park. Dear uncle of William Schaper, II and his wife Michelle, Holly Monroe, Laura Astorino and her husband Nicholas, and the late Sean Michael Lawson. Dearest great-uncle of Madelyn Schaper, Ethan Monroe and Lukas Camino.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, October 24, 2025 at St. Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock. Entombment of ashes will follow at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum in Paterson.
