Michael Don Rose

A come-and-go visitation will be from Noon-8pm on Thursday, September 15th at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City, OK with the family greeting friends from 5-7pm. A service celebrating his life will be at 2pm on Friday, September 16th at Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service.
Michael Don Rose was born March 27, 1942, in Oklahoma City to John Duncan and Dorothy Gertrude Rose. He died at his home surrounded by family on September 12, 2022. Growing up as a mischievous boy in Oklahoma City, Mike went to Jefferson Davis Elementary School and graduated from Southeast High School. Early in his working career, he worked for a stint at Oklahoma Natural Gas. Mike served in the National Guard for a brief period and made his way through the Oklahoma City Police Academy where he served his career on the police force. He served as a Patrol Officer, Master Patrolman, and retired as a Detective in 1986. Following retirement from the Oklahoma City Police Department, Mike continued to serve in law enforcement as a Cleveland County Deputy, as a U.S. Marshal, and finally as a TSA supervisor at Will Rogers World Airport.
Mike will be remembered for his quiet yet steadfast faith, his unique sense of humor, his passion and drive for OU sports (especially football), his soft and tender heart, but most of all his selfless love for his family.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Larry Paul Rose, John David Rose, and Mildred Homer; and a grandson, Brian Michael Rose.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Betty Jean "Jeanie" Rose; children, Michael David Rose and wife Mindy, Elizabeth Marie Puig and husband Dan, Jodi Crawford and husband Bill, John Jennings and wife Dawn, and Tina Lee and husband James. He will also be missed by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
