Died on June 25, 2024, at the age of 86. Mike was the son of Anne and Sol Rosen of St. Paul. He was born on September 10, 1937 in St. Paul. He grew up in the Highland neighborhood and attended St. Paul Central High School. He completed a bachelor's degree in business administration at the University of Michigan in 1959 and earned his MBA from Columbia University in 1961. He met Toni Lee Goldish of Minneapolis on his first day at Michigan and married her in 1959, a marriage that lasted for 61 years until her death in 2021. His career in business included positions as Head of Research at Dain, Kalman & Quail, investment advisor, and real estate investor. In 1972, ten years into his career, Mike took a leave of absence and he and Toni moved their family to Florence, Italy for a year. During that year, they (and their children) developed a lifelong love of art, good food, and travel that determined the course of the rest of their lives. For the next 50 years, Mike was an avid traveler, spending hours planning their adventures in far-flung parts of the world, from Kenya and Namibia to China, Australia, and Brazil. He and Toni also spent many weekends at "Bellosguardo" (beautiful view in Italian), their cabin on Lake Pepin. After retirement, Mike rekindled his teenage love of photography and became a semi-professional photographer, exhibiting his work at the Minnesota State Fair and other local venues. He served on the boards of several local social service organizations and established the Mike and Toni Rosen Family Fund to donate to environmental conservation, animal welfare, human rights, and other causes of importance to him, Toni, and their children. He leaves behind his three children, Ellen Rosen McGill (Michael McGill), Sydney Rosen, and Andrew Rosen (Michelle Sullivan); six grandchildren, Frances (David Cantor), Daniel (Sophie Daudon), and Gabriel McGill and Quinn, Charlotte, and Davan Rosen; and one great-granddaughter, Antonia Rose Cantor-McGill, who brought joy and humor to his last months. Graveside Memorial service 11:00am on Friday, June 28th at ADATH YESHURUN CEMETERY, 5605 France Ave. S, Edina 55410. Donations in his honor preferred to the Animal Humane Society (www.animalhumanesociety.org). Service will be available on zoom: www.hodroffs.com/MichaelRosen
