Michael "Mick" Allen Sertich, 75, of Alborn, was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 24, 2024 at Essentia Health St Mary's Medical Center. He was born on June 28, 1949 in Duluth to Mark and Virginia (Fritz) Sertich.
Mick graduated from Denfeld High School in 1967 and went on to earn an Associate degree in accounting from WITC in Superior. He worked 43 years for Peavey/Gavilon Grain Elevator and retired as a Plant Manager.
Mick was an active member of New Life Covenant Church and their men's bible study. He was a proud Army Veteran and patriot.
He married the love of his life, Carol "Carrie" Hillman on October 3, 1974.
Some of his favorite activities were trail riding in his side-by-side, pontooning around Maple Leaf Lake, bonfires with family and friends, and 341 Club. He was a proud attendant of his kids and grandkids sporting events. He played, coached, and loved watching hockey, as well as Vikings football.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents; son, Jeffrey Blackwood; and brother, Steve.
Mick is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Carrie; children, Kristine (Scott) Trapp, Daniel (Melissa) Sertich, Sara Sertich; grandchildren, Savanna, Molly (Dalton), Adam, Addison, Isaak, and Noah; great-grandchildren, Benny, Eden and one on the way; best friends and brothers, Mark (Kelly) and Tim (Patty); sisters, Carole Janke, Cyndi Flood, and Patty Ann Sertich; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved pup, Jessie Girl.
Visitation to be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, September 28th at New Life Covenant Church, 5309 Dickerman Rd, Saginaw, with Memorial Service at 11:00 AM and Military Honors and reception to follow. Interment at the MN State Veterans Cemetery – Duluth.
